Telsight and Rapid.Space have concluded a strategic agreement to provide cost optimization solutions for 5G infrastructure operators worldwide. Through the combination of Telsight and Rapid.Space, the extension cost of 5G infrastructure can be reduced by 15% for high density areas to 50% for low density areas, while retaining subscribers.

According to PwC, EY, and GSMA reports, mobile operators collectively waste billions annually due to inaccurate RAN investments. Sources estimate losses range from 15% to 30% of total CAPEX due to under or over-investment. Until recently, algorithms such as Kaufman-Roberts, that can scientifically mitigate this situation with 2G networks could not be extended to 5G networks due to their excessive mathematical complexity.

Telsight, a spinoff of Orange Labs and INRIA, has developed a mathematically valid approximation of Kaufman-Roberts that reduces computation time from astronomical to millisecond without sacrificing accuracy. By extracting live traffic, performance counters, cell configurations and capacity parameters from the Operations Support System (OSS), Telsight software automatically suggests to operators what and where to invest in order to optimise cost and performance while retaining users by reducing occurences of lost connectivity. Through the use of Telsight alone, Operators can expect measured reduction between 30% to 60% of their capital expenditures while reducing churn by 14%.

Rapid.Space, an end-to-end vRAN infrastructure vendor founded by Amarisoft and Nexedi, has developed a complete portfolio of 4G/5G infrastructure which includes OSS/BSS, NSM, BBU (DU/CU), SDC, eNodeB/gNodeB, core network, fronthaul, edge, AI, OT, etc. Thanks to its partnership with Broadradio, Comba, Comleap, Prose and NTS, and to its in-house hardware designs, Rapid.Space supports more than 151 SKUs of radio units suitable for macro-stations, dense areas, rural areas, indoor coverage and private networks. With its open source / licensed source business model, Rapid.Space reduces the cost of operation (TCO) by 10% to 70% compared to traditional infrastructure vendors. As a pioneer of 3C networking, Rapid.Space can increase the value of 5G infrastructure by deploying local core, edge, OT and AI services in every BBU to support use cases such as RAN sharing for civil protection or industrial 5G.

As part of the partnership between Telsight and Rapid.Space, Telsight will integrate Rapid.Space's 5G infrastructure solutions into its dimensioning software, helping operators make informed investment decisions between vRAN and traditional RAN while monitoring and optimising their networks. Rapid.Space will integrate connectors into its OSS so that Telsight can run the approximation of Kaufman-Robert algorithm on vRAN infrastructure. Operators that rely on the combination of Rapid.Space and Telsight can expect to make a rational choice between vRAN and RAN, and a 50% cut in their future investment while preserving existing ones.
