Telsight and Rapid.Space collaborate to optimize 5G infrastructure costs
Telsight and Rapid.Space have concluded a strategic agreement to deliver cost-optimization solutions for 5G infrastructure operators worldwide.
Paris, Shanghai, July 20th, 2026 - Telsight and Rapid.Space announce a strategic collaboration to provide innovative cost-optimization solutions to 5G infrastructure operators across the globe. The joint solution from Telsight and Rapid.Space enables 5G infrastructure operators to significantly cut extension costs - from 15% in high-density areas to up to 50% in low-density areas - without compromising subscriber retention.
According to PwC, EY, and GSMA reports, mobile operators collectively waste billions annually due to inaccurate RAN investments. Sources estimate losses range from 15% to 30% of total CAPEX due to under- or over-investment. Until recently, algorithms such as Kaufman-Roberts, which can scientifically mitigate this situation under 2G networks, could not be extended to 5G networks due to their excessive mathematical complexity.
Olivier Rostaing, Founder and CEO of Telsight, explains: "Telsight's mathematically valid approximation of Kaufman-Roberts reduces computation time from astronomical to milliseconds without sacrificing accuracy. By pulling real-time data from the Operations Support System (OSS) - including traffic flows, performance counters, cell configurations, and capacity parameters - to automatically guide operators on where and what to invest, to maximize network efficiency, optimize cost, and improve subscriber retention through fewer connectivity interruptions. Through the use of Telsight alone, Operators can expect a measured reduction between 30% and 60% in their capital expenditures while reducing churn by 14%."
Jean-Paul Smets, CEO of Rapid.Space, presents: "Rapid.Space is a full-stack vRAN infrastructure vendor - founded by Amarisoft and Nexedi - aiming at delivering a complete 4G/5G portfolio - from OSS/BSS, NMS, BBU (DU/CBU) to eNodeB/gNodeB, core network, fronthaul, edge computing, AI and OT solutions. Thanks to its partnerships with Broadradio, Comba, Comleap, Prose and NTS, and to its in-house hardware designs, Rapid.Space supports more than 151 SKUs of radio units suitable for macro-stations, dense areas, rural areas, indoor coverage, and private networks. With its open source / licensed source business model, Rapid.Space reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by 10% to 70% compared to traditional infrastructure vendors. As a pioneer of 3C networking, Rapid.Space can increase the value of 5G infrastructure by deploying local core, edge, OT and AI services in every BBU to support use cases such as RAN sharing for civil protection or industrial 5G."
Olivier Rostaing adds: "Under this partnership, Telsight will integrate Rapid.Space's 5G infrastructure solutions into its dimensioning software, giving operators the intelligence they need to make informed investment decisions between vRAN and traditional RAN, while keeping their networks optimised and under control."
Jean-Paul Smets concludes: "Rapid.Space will integrate connectors into its OSS so that Telsight can run the approximation of the Kaufman-Robert algorithm on vRAN infrastructure. By combining Rapid.Space and Telsight solutions, operators gain the insight to make rational choice between vRAN and RAN, reducing future capital expenditure by up to 50% while fully protecting their current infrastructure investments."
About Telsight
Telsight is a London-based software company that makes mobile networks profitable. A spinoff of Orange Labs and INRIA research, Telsight has developed a mathematically valid approximation of the Kaufman-Roberts algorithm that reduces capacity computation from astronomical to milliseconds without sacrificing accuracy. By extracting live traffic, performance counters, and capacity parameters directly from the OSS, the Telsight platform tells operators what and where to invest — cutting capital expenditure by 30% to 60%, improving subscriber experience, and revealing where to sell FWA on capacity they already own. Validated across 10+ markets on four continents.
